Pinchless Full Cheek & Hanging Cheek/Baucher Snaffle Bits
The arms of the pinchless snaffle mouthpiece allows both sides of the
bit to rotate independently of the other side. This action allows the
rein signals to work independently just on the sides of the mouth,
making the communication between horse and rider clearer.
FULL CHEEK SNAFFLE
These bits have a fixed cheek and therefore are useful for horses that are unsure of the bit as it doesn't move around the mouth much. They are very popular for breaking in and bringing on young horses as they encourage the horse to turn as pressure is applied to the cheeks. This bit can not be pulled through the horses mouth like some other bits. Another type of horse that this bit would help with turning, is a horse that tends to nap.
HALF CHEEK SNAFFLE
Also known as the filet baucher, it applies pressure on the poll, which encourages the horse to lower the head, very useful on a horse with a very high head carriage.
The jointed mouth piece applies pressure on the tongue, sides of the mouth and the roof of the mouth. This is known as the nut cracker action.
The french link mouth piece has two joints which means the pressure of the bit is distributed over both the tongue and the bars of the mouth.
