I take a 5 1/2 size - how generous are the sizes? just trying to decide between 5 - 6?

What are the calf and height measurements for a size 6 and 7 in the dublin standard river boots please?
also I am a size 6.5 -7 what size would you recommend i get?

The approximate calf width of the size 6 is 16" and the size 7 is 16.5". The height of the size 6 is approximately 16" and the size 7 is about 17". We would recommend going for the larger size to allow for thick socks, etc, in winter.

I am between a size 5 and 6. If I order a 5 and it doesn't fit can I send it back for a larger size?

I wear the standard river boots everyday for riding and about the yard, and they're great. I have short, wide legs but find they fit fine, although are roomy round the foot.

Are these river boots suitable for riding?

The river boots have been designed with riding in mind. However we would advise that you check that they fit comfortably in the stirrups, with a 1/4 inch gap either side of your foot. We would also advise that you ensure the boot treads do no grip too tightly to the stirrup.

What is the best way to protect my river tall boots?

The boots can be washed with water and a soft brush and allowed to dry naturally. Dubbin can be used on the boots to condition them, keep them supple and waterproof but please be aware that this may alter the colour of the leather.
