Equestrian Body Protectors

An equestrian body protector is a foam filled vest to be worn over clothes, and is to protect the chest and back area of the rider should they fall off. Injuries are not completely prevented but the risk is reduced.
Equestrian body protectors consist of two pieces which are completely separate, the front and back panel, which are fastened together on each side and over the shoulders with velcro. For the body protector to offer you maximum protection it must be fitted correctly, replaced after any major impact and also replaced every three to four years. As with the riding hats it is advised to avoid buying and wearing second body protectors.
