Pelham Bit

If your looking for a Pelham bit you've come to the right place. The Pelham Bit is a combination of the curb and bridoon together, and is available with many different mouthpieces and cheeks. The reins attach to two different rings making the bit perform the duties of two bits. When using a Pelham Bit only a cavesson nose-band should be used. The top rein, known as the bridoon, causes the bit to act on the corners of the mouth, the lips, and on the tongue. The lower rein, known as the curb, causes the bit to act on the bars, the chin groove and the poll. A pelham would be used on a horse or pony that goes well in a snaffle bit but may need a little more control in certain disciplines, like cross country.
