The Hackamore is a bit-less bridle without a mouthpiece, it has an effect on the horse by applying pressure to the nose, poll and chin groove. Although the mouth area is not affected the poll, the nose and chin groove are all sensitive areas. The Hakamore bit is mostly used by experienced riders on horses that have a difficult or damaged mouth.
