FIGURE 8/GRACKLE NOSEBAND
The Figure-8/Grackle noseband is meant to keep the horse from crossing his jaw and opening his mouth. It is often used in fast paced equestrian sports such as show jumping, cross country and racing as it leaves the nostrils clear, so the horse can breathe much easier.
MEXICAN NOSEBAND
Same purpose as figure of 8 noseband but has metal rings where the leather attaches.
CAVESSON
The cavesson is the simplest noseband and is used to give a smart appearance. Available in Hunt Cavesson and Raised Cavesson for variety and different disciplines.
FLASH NOSEBAND
The flash noseband has a second adjustable strap which is attached by a loop. The flash goes around the nose in front of the bit and under the chin groove, and then comes back to the noseband. The flash is used to hold the bit steady in the horse's mouth as well as keeping the horse's mouth closed and to help stop the horse crossing his jaw.
