Equi Theme Sweet Itch / Fly Rug - Sheet
SWEET ITCH RUG
This rug is made from a 100% soft and tightly weaved polyester. The "Sweet Itch" rug prevents small insects from getting through, whilst the horse remains feeling comfortable. Dense and absorbing, it vents the sweat and reduces the damaging effects of UV rays on sensitive skin.
Close fitting to the body, it fully protects from the neck to the tail. Features adjustable flaps at the base of the neck and adjustable elastic straps on the neck and rear legs with PVC clips.
The belly in entirely covered with a wide removable girth. The belly flap doubles the protection of the flanks because it is covering them too, and is clipped on the top of the back. Elasticated and adjustable so fits perfectly to your horses body.
The position is maintained with a velcro and clip anchoring system on the girth straps, interlocking with the rug. 30c machine washable.

I bought this rug for my other horse as she isn't a sweet itch horse, but does get bothered by the midges when it's bad as well as the flies; it's perfectly fine for her use, but I wouldn't buy it for the other destruction merchant!
For those that have a sweet-itch pony & don't have bottomless pockets, I would say this is a good alternative to the Boett & CERTAINLY far better than using lotions & potions or a normal fly rug - for 24 hour use, this one is far more comfortable & light weight.
Sizing: She wears a 6' 3" rug normally & this fits nicely.
Whilst the lower part of the neck is generous, the elasticated top of the neck is very small, so too tight on my 15hh part Arab & the strap isn't long enough to do up, so I'll have to put an extra couple of inches in it as it's too snug!

We would recommend the 6'9", as you don't want a fly rug which is too big and these rugs are made from a material with quite a bit of stretch so it should allow for a larger front end.

145cm is equivalent to a 6'5" rug, so where a 6'5" is not available we would recommend a 6'6".

We recommend you stick to your normal size in this rug. If you do not know the normal size, we recommend measuring your pony to ensure that you get the correct size. To measure for this, please measure from the centre of your ponies chest, in straight line along his or her body, to a point level with the end of the tail at the point of the buttock. As an average, a 13hh pony generally takes a 4'9" rug.

The x-small refers to the mask and not a rug, and unfortunately this may be too large for the pony you describe.
