Filet Baucher or Hanging Cheek Snaffle Bits
The hanging cheek snaffle applies pressure on the poll, which
encourages the horse to lower the head, very useful on a horse with a
very high head carriage.
COOPER MOUTH SNAFFLE - has the added benefit of been covered in copper which encourages the horse to salivate. The copper bits are ideal for horses that don't mouth the bit whilst been ridden.
WATERFORD - has a chain type mouthpiece which has ball shaped links joined together. the bit is floppy and there fore perfect for horses that grab or lean on the bit. When the horse tries to grab the bit the bit 'collapses'. The bit has several links allowing the pressure to be spread over the tongue, and has no nut cracker action.
HOLLOW MOUTH - the hollow mouth is said to be milder or kinder than the solid mouthpiece as it is lighter and thicker in diameter, which means when pressure is applied it will be distributed over a larger area.
FRENCH LINK - the double jointed french link mouth piece eliminates the nutcracker action, and disperses the pressure over the two joints rather than the one in the single jointed snaffle.
STANDARD JOINT - have the nutcracker action which acts on the bars of the mouth and sometimes the roof of the mouth.
