The Chifney, is also known as an anti rearing bit, designed for leading high spirited horses and ponies it attaches to a sliphead or headpiece, and has a single loose ring for the lead rope to attach to at the back of the chin. The V shaped mouth piece is very thin and will dig into the horses tongue, if the horse tries to rear or pull.
The anti rearing bit should be used with care and by experienced people, and is for leading only. The size you require is the size of the normal bit you would use to ride in.
